massive hematemesis
A real world example of SALAD
With CPR in progress and massive active hematemesis this a difficult as it gets.
In part one, notice the difficulty securing the airway and further attempts halted due to soiled optics.
In part two, with the SALAD technique employed, large bore suction advances before the laryngscope, keeping the optics clear.
With the suction parked left in the esophagus the way is clear to access the trachea and place a definitive airway.
