An airway training day for EMS providers in our new studio

Airway calls are high-pressure, low-frequency.
Most of us do not get enough time to practice the skills we are expected to perform when things go bad: bagging a difficult patient, setting up for intubation, managing suction, using video laryngoscopy, preparing for a failed airway, or working through the first few minutes when oxygenation is falling and everyone is looking for a plan.
That is what this day is for.
On June 29th, the Protected Airway Collaborative is hosting a dedicated EMS Day at our training studio in Chelsea. A beautiful loft space filled with state-of-the-art airway training equipment.
Location:
Airway Works NYC
135 West 20th Street, Studio 602
Between 6th and 7th Avenue
New York, NY
This is not a lecture day.
You will not be sitting in a classroom watching slides about airway management. You will be up, moving, practicing, asking questions, handling equipment, and working through airway problems in a low-pressure environment with experienced coaches.
The goal is simple: give EMS providers more time with the skills, tools, and decision-making that matter on real calls.
What you will do
You will get hands-on time with airway stations focused on the things EMS providers actually deal with:
Oxygenation and bag-mask ventilation
How to get better seal, better positioning, better teamwork, and better oxygenation before things spiral.
Video laryngoscopy and airway equipment
A chance to handle modern devices, practice techniques, and understand what makes airway attempts easier or harder.
FONA Skills & Failed Airway Management
How to recognize when a plan is not working, how to escalate, and how to prepare for rescue options.
Practical coaching
You will have time to ask questions, troubleshoot your own technique, and get direct feedback without the pressure of a real patient in front of you.
What to bring
Please bring:
Headphones
A mobile device
These are important. Some of the stations use QR codes, audio guides, and digital learning tools that let you move through the space at your own pace.
Why this is different
EMS airway training often happens in short bursts: a lecture, a skills checkoff, a quick mannequin session, or a stressful scenario where everyone is being evaluated.
This is different.
The PAC Studio is built for practice. It is meant to be a place where you can slow down, repeat the steps, handle the equipment, make mistakes, fix them, and leave sharper than when you arrived.
No judgment. No performance pressure. No pretending airway management is easy.
Just practical reps, good coaching, and time to work on the skills that matter.
Who should come
This day is for EMS providers, paramedics, EMTs, EMS educators, prehospital clinicians, and anyone who wants more comfort and confidence with airway management.
You do not need to be an airway expert to come.
Actually, that is the point.
If you want more hands-on practice, better familiarity with equipment, and a clearer approach to airway problems in the field, this day is for you.
Join us June 29th
Come spend time in the studio. Practice the skills. Ask the questions. Get your hands on the equipment. Bring your real-world experience and leave with a better plan for the next airway call.
