It’s a myth that the video laryngoscope (VL) is useless in a contaminated airway scenario. What you need is a decontamination protocol upgrade! This virtual training lab session will show you how to perform Suction-Assisted Laryngoscopy & Airway Decontamination (SALAD) and it will transform your use of the rigid suction catheter.

By integrating a simple set of core decontamination skills into your VL technique you will be able to place the laryngoscope blade with less effort, all while actively decontaminating the airway. This reduces wasted movement, makes you quicker and better, and able to navigate these tough situations with confidence. Sometimes life sucks, but you better be ready to suck when the airway is contaminated!

If you can’t come to one of our SALAD simulators we can help you build your own, or send you a fully constructed model for you to use in your own simulation center.

Build Your Own Learning Installation

Just download and print our interactive posters, and you will have access to all the embedded digital airway content that will walk learners through all the core concepts and skills for this topic.
